DepartmentSell SomethingWhere to Find Us

There has been much adverse publicity about “brown furniture” and it is an expression which we hear on a regular basis. However, to us, all furniture is “brown” unless it is painted. Yes, there has been an adjustment in the furniture market over the past few years, but the market for good quality items, whether period or later, continues to grow. Combine this with realistic pre-auction estimates, we see high selling rate with some very strong results.

To prove the above point, we have sold a late 18th century mahogany tripod table for £7,500, a mid 18th century Irish mahogany “silver” table for £35,000 and a mid 19th century inlaid walnut centre table (purchased from an auction for £1,000 where they did not use live internet bidding) which sold for £5,000.

All of our auctions use live internet bidding platforms to ensure that every lot, whether it is worth £20 or £500,000, reaches the widest possible market and sells for the best price possible. In the run up to an auction we receive 100’s of emails requesting further information for lots in the sale. Attached to these email replies, we regularly send well over 1,000 digital images, such is the huge interest generated in our auctions.
