Two collections from opposing ends of the country are being sold by Charterhouse in specialist April auctions.
“As a business we travel up and down the country advising clients on their specialist antiques and collector’s items.” Commented Richard Bromell. “Sometimes it can be as small as a piece of jewellery or large as a classic car, but whatever the items are they will be entered into a specialist sale to achieve the best possible price.”
From a collector in Derbyshire a collection of over 50 pictures by modern artists have been entered into the Charterhouse special sale of pictures and prints.
Amassed over the past 20 years they include works by modern artists including John Bratby, Dora Holtzhandler and Oscar Mellor. Varying in size, composition and medium, the pictures are each estimated from £100 to £1,000 and expected to total £30,000-40,000 when they go under the auctioneers gavel on Thursday 7th April.
Whilst carrying out a probate valuation in a flat for a deceased estate in Devon Charterhouse discovered a large collection of Chinese and Japanese porcelain. There are vases and bowls from the 18th century onwards and just like the painting collection, are estimated from £100 to £1,000 and expected to total £20,000-30,000 when they are entered into the Charterhouse Asian Art auction on Friday 8th April.
Charterhouse are now taking entries for their busy programme of specialist auctions in April with automobilia, Asian Art, pictures, sporting items and books followed by silver, jewellery, watches, with wine, port & whisky in May.
