A collection of rare Royal Worcester porcelain horse groups from a West Country couple living near Taunton are being sold by Charterhouse in an auction devoted to Royal Worcester, Doulton, Beswick and Border Fine Arts in Sherborne on Tuesday 27th January.
“The owner and his wife spent years travelling to auctions and antique fairs collecting Royal Worcester and Beswick horses.” Commented Richard Bromell. “They were both regular buyers from our auctions for over the past 20 years and had them not only on display in their living room but also in their garages!”
Sadly, his wife recently passed away, and he asked a Charterhouse valuer over to his Somerset home for help and advice. After some thought, he decided to let new custodians enjoy their beloved horses and consigned the horses for auction.
Further entries are now being invited for this Charterhouse specialist auction of Royal Worcester, Doulton, Beswick & Border Fine Arts on the 27th January, followed by silver on the 28th, jewellery & watches the 29th and then antiques & interiors on the 30th.
