A collection of modern coins are estimated to sell for thousands of pounds in the Charterhouse September specialist auction of coins, medals, stamps and collectors’ items.

“The market for coins continues to remain strong from 13th century hammered coins through to the modern collector coins such as these.” Commented Richard Bromell. “A strong market combined with Charterhouse having conducted specialist auctions for decade’s results in the high prices we achieve.”

The coins were collected by the owner’s late father. He inherited the flat and contents after he passed away. Having little knowledge or interest in the coins he took them to a Charterhouse specialist coins valuation day where he was surprised to hear them estimated at £5,000.

The coins are now entered into the Charterhouse two day September auction with coins, medals, militaria and stamps on Thursday 1st followed by model cars, trains, collector’s items and clocks on Friday 2nd.

Richard Bromell and the team at Charterhouse can be contacted for valuations at The Long Street Salerooms, Sherborne 01935 812277 info@charterhouse-auction.com where they are taking further entries for their September specialist auctions of, coins, medals, stamps, clocks and collectors on the 1st & 2nd followed by automobilia on the 29th and then classic cars and classic motorcycles in October.
