A collection of vintage and later cameras are estimated to sell for £10,000 when they go under the Charterhouse gavel in their specialist auction of cameras, photographs and photography related items on Thursday 1st June.

“Despite most people using the camera on their smart phones there is still a huge number of people who prefer a traditional camera with a film.” Commented Richard Bromell.

The collection, from a deceased estate near Swanage, has been amassed over many years. The owner, a keen amateur photographer, had a particular interest in 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) cameras including Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, Pentax and Rollieflex.

Dating from the 1930’s through to the late 20th century they are each estimated to sell from £50 up to £2,000.

Charterhouse are now accepting further entries for their June specialist auctions including cameras and photography related items, coins, medals & stamps, antiques & interiors, classic cars and classic motorcycles.
