A collection of coins is being sold by Charterhouse in Sherborne in their coin, militaria and stamp auction on 29th August.
“The owner, who lived in Bridport, collected coins as a child and returned again to collect coins in his later years.” Commented Richard Bromell. “Sadly he recently passed away and the family, who have little interest in coin collecting, asked Charterhouse to auction them and find new collectors who will enjoy them all.”
The collection is quite broad, but he had a particular interest in American silver dollar coins. The earliest dollar in his collection dates from 1879 and the latest one is from 2008 with there being a great selection of Morgan, Liberty and Peace dollars.
Charterhouse are accepting further entries for this specialist auction.
